When most people hear the company name BMW, they usually associate it immediately with the high end automobiles that the company is well known for. Often they picture sleek sports cars and luxury sedans that epitomize an ideal blend between safety and high speed performance.

What most people don’t know, however, is that BMW had it’s beginnings in 1923 not with cars, but with motorcycle production. To this day, BMW constantly comes out with new models of motorcycles employing cutting edge technology. Their racing teams see constant action in the international racing circuits, and win quite a number of these races with regularity.

As a matter of fact, some BMW racing teams like to show off the specs of their machines by beating modified motorcycles from other groups, but they do so using only stock motorcycles that can be bought straight off the showroom floor by regular people. This impressive fact stands out and is something to bear in mind if you’re considering buying a motorcycle.

BMW has enjoyed such a high level of popularity that almost every country in the world has exclusive BMW motorcycle clubs for racers, owners, and enthusiasts. These clubs promote the popularity of BMW motorcycles by holding races, rallies, showroom events, and regular meetings among it’s members.

Aside from the high levels of speed and overall performance of it’s cars and motorcycles, however, BMW machines are also well known for one other thing. Sheer durability. BMWs are some of the toughest vehicles around, and their motorcycles also bear this same stamp of durability. Despite looking like racing bikes, which in the mind of most people means that a bike is delicate and can only function at top specs on a race track, BMW bikes have actually seen action in quite a number of off-road and all-weather competitions.

The only drawback perhaps to the BMW is it’s price tag, which tends to be higher than the average motorcycle. However, most BMW owners feel that the price is a worthwhile trade off for all the perks of the bike. As a matter of fact, it’s price and quality have made owning a BMW a status symbol.

The price actually works to the advantage of some of the more knowledgeable motorcycle enthusiasts, who have made a livelihood out of restoring BMWs or selling them to collectors. Because of the popularity and prestige of BMW, older model beemer bikes have become vintage units that can fetch a hefty price with the right people.

You have decided to buy a motorcycle. Maybe you have visions of yourself flying down the highway, the wind whipping past your head as you wave and grin at all of those poor people still trapped in their little tin boxes. Maybe you haveve always wanted a motorcycle, and now, finally you are ready to purchase. Whatever the reasons, the decision to purchase a motorcycle leads to the questions what kind should I purchase? Suzuki, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Harley the choices are limited. Should I buy a new motorcycle or a used one? What should I look for in a new motorcycle? What should I look for in a used motorcycle? Read on to find out the answers to these questions, and more.

FAQ Which type of motorcycle should I buy?
A) Some people just love Yamaha bikes, others think that Suzuki bikes or Honda bikes or Kawasaki bikes are the best on the market. Still others prefer Harley Davidson bikes or other brands. The main thing to keep in mind when buying your first motorcycle is that if you have had little or no previous riding experience, you are going to fall, quite a lot in fact. With this in mind, be sure that the bike that you choose is one that can be fixed easily. Some experts recommend the Suzuki GS500 for learners, since it is small and free of excess chrome and farings that can be costly to replace.

You should expect to invest much of your new bike fund in high quality safety gear, like helmets, knee pads, elbow pads, etc. Since you already know that you will be falling down a lot, you should plan ahead and minimize damage by choosing, first and foremost, an affordable, well made helmet. There are many different types of helmets, but first time riders shouldnt give into the temptation to skimp on quality. Many companies, like Scorpion helmets, offer lower priced options as well as the high end products used by commercial racers.

FAQ) Should I buy a new motorcycle or a used motorcycle?

A) This depends on your personality and your budget. For first time riders, used bikes are often recommended because of the increased risk of repair costs. Finding a used bike isnt difficult, thanks to the Internet, newspapers, magazines, etc, but you should plan on bringing someone with you who knows more about motorcycles than you do when you begin to look at used bikes for sale. This person can ask questions that you may not think of, and can help you inspect the bike properly.

Buying a new motorcycle isn’t always easy. There’s a lot of information out there to steer car buyers in the right direction, but very little for the average motorcycle buyer.

The first step to buying your new motorcycle is deciding which type or model style is right for you. Most people group bikes into three distinct categories: Street, Dual-Purpose, and Off-Road. But, those who know bikes well understand that there are many more subcategories of motorcycles to contend with on the sales block.

The biggest mistake beginning riders often make when purchasing their first motorcycle is settling for a low-budget street model (usually costing around $3,000 new). The problem is, these bikes have little power and can often sport an uncomfortable ride.

Touring Bikes are considered the Cadillac of motorcycles. Although still considered a street bike, this model is built for comfortable highway riding and long trips. Featuring a large powerful engine, touring bikes are very heavy and can be difficult to maneuver, especially at high speeds. These bikes are great for experienced riders and those who do a lot of highway riding. In-town and city riders should avoid them. Price too is a consideration when buying a touring bike since the prices for one of these models ranges form $10,000 to $20,000.

Cruisers are a more classic looking street bike and are by far the most common style of bike offered by today’s dealers. Style and comfort is key to the cruiser, which features large comfortable low-to-the ground seating. Another benefit to the cruiser style: the liberal use of chrome and loud exhaust note, two things many riders enjoy in their bikes. The cost for one of these can range form $5,000 to $20,000.

Sport Bikes are another sub category in the biking industry and are very popular among younger riders. Built for performance, sports bikes don’t offer much in the way of comfort or convenience. These lightweight bikes feature the ultimate in aerodynamics. Not good for long trips, sports bikes are meant for just that: sport. Although relatively inexpensive (ranging from $5,000 to $20,000), sports bikes often carry higher insurance premiums do to a perceived risk by insurance carriers

Standard Bikes aren’t as popular as they once were, but are still best for beginners since they are well-balanced, well powered and relatively light-weight which makes them easier to handle. Good for both city use as well as highway riding, standard bikes are a wonderful option for regular ordinary bikers who just want reliable transportation.

Motocross Bikes are meant solely for off-road use. They feature small engines and are extremely lightweight (usually weighing a mere 150-300 pounds). Used for recreational riding, motocross bikes are relatively inexpensive usually ranging in price form $1,500 to $6,000.

Dual-Purpose Bikes, on the other hand feature knobby tires and a high center of gravity that works well for off-roading, but still have headlights, turn-signals, and emissions control to make them street-legal.

As you can see, there are a lot of different kinds of bikes for a lot of different kinds of riders. The most important things to consider when choosing a bike of your own is:

-Your size and strength.
-Your experience and ability.
-Your budget.

Once you’ve narrowed your choices to the style you want most, it’s time to hit the showroom floor to see what your favorite manufacturer have.

With party buses Los Angeles, one thing is a point taken They just don’t allow individuals to save any money, if that is a thought doing headlines in people’s minds. Basically, with party buses Los Angeles, irrespective of the time an individual books them, the charges are going to be sky high for most part of the day and eventually, people may pay 30-40% more than what they would have paid, if they would have arranged for another bus to ferry their guests.

But then, the feel of travelling in party buses Los Angeles is probably much more different than traveling in any other bus. This is probably due to the luxury, style and comfort provided to them in the luxury bus, which is not something provided to them in any regular bus. The point is Are these party buses Los Angeles, worth paying the sky high charges? Are there any cheaper alternatives to them at all? The bad news is The more you try to hunt down an answer to this question, the more disappointed you would be, because of the fact that these party buses Los Angeles do have a standard pricing margin.

Fleet management companies wouldn’t want to go overboard with the costing of these party buses Los Angeles, and thus would do their best to price the rentals for party buses Los Angeles in a normal cost range. The only times when this cost could skip high would be when you are trying to book them last minute for travel coming up in a day or two.. Or, for weekend bookings too, because the charges for weekend bookings could be abnormally higher too.

The point here is simple If you wish to book for party buses in Los Angeles or party buses Orange County, don’t worry about the cost, because the luxury, style and the pamper offered to you by the buses would take care of this in a simple manner.

Most bike owners want to add a personal stamp to their machines. Aftermarket motorcycle parts make this easy no matter what your technical skill is. However before slapping on custom chrome everywhere, you want to have a plan. You want your bike to have a consistent look and feel, not a patchwork appearance.

Design the entire bike

As you shop for custom motorcycle parts, you will find a piece here and there that speaks to you. It might be a set of motorcycle fenders or chrome motorcycle tanks or something else. If you just snatch up these parts and slap them on the bike then you may have a cool spot here and there, but the overall image will be weak.

Instead, use these individual parts as inspiration for an entire design. Think about how each piece compliments the other, how they fit the lines of your motorcycle, and how they match the image you want to relate. A unifying theme makes the whole bike greater than the sum of its parts and will lead to a custom creation that will turn heads.

You don’t have to have a complete design plan at this point but you want some idea of your goal.

Now that you see the whole, look at the pieces

Once you have a design concept, start mentally taking the bike apart.

Start with the front end. Replacing the wheels or forks will create sweeping changes in the look of the bike, but smaller details like axle covers add subtlety that really separates you from the crowd.

Move your focus along the bike to the engine, the dominant feature of the machine. Chrome motorcycle parts like lifter block covers really draw the eye and tell everyone that you aren’t riding a stock bike. Of course the engine is more than just pretty and there are many custom motorcycle parts that will improve performance.

The other important component in this area is the seat. Unless the bike is just for show, you want to consider your comfort. Options for seats and handlebars can make riding your motorcycle an even greater pleasure.

Now move along to the back end of the bike. Here again you have both functional and decorative choices. You can add bags for cargo capacity, a comfortable seat for a passenger, or you can strip off the function and chrome out the back end to leave a dazzling final impression.

Shop for the right parts

Once you have the design details down, it’s just a matter of finding the right custom motorcycle parts to fit. The custom job doesn’t have to cost more than the bike did, either. You can find discount motorcycle parts that are high quality additions to your street machine.

Take the time to make a plan so you will have a bike that is an extension of your true self, not an off-the-shelf carbon copy of every other one out there.

Suppose you work for a big corporation and youve been assigned the task of organizing transportation to a conference that will be attended by the entire sales force of the company. You get somewhat of a break because the event is to be held in a local convention center. So, quickly you realize that ground transportation would be more than sufficient. Obviously, you dont want to hire a number of limousines to drive the sales force to the event. One alternative is a Bus Rental.

Or suppose you are a member of a college fraternity and you are assigned the task of coordinating transportation for your chapter to attend a special event out of state in which members from all the chapters of the fraternity throughout the country will also attend. You consider a combination of ground and air transportation but you and the other fraternity chapters soon realize that a more cost effective option is a bus rental from a national bus charter service to bring everyone together.

There are all sorts of scenarios in which people have to travel to a particular location or come together to be a part of a special tour, or travel to a place where they may participate in a sporting event or church or social conference. With just a little bit of research you will probably conclude that renting a bus or a number of buses is the best method of transporting your group from one location to another.

Why Rent

There are so many reasons for a bus rental to provide transportation for any kind of group. They can include:

	Special events and Occasions

	Airport Transportation

	Corporate Transportation

	National Sports Events

Family Events like Weddings, Reunions and Parties

	Convention and Trade Shows

Exclusive Casino and Wine Tour Trips

	Specialized Tours and Sightseeing

	Church and School Field Trips

	Promotional Events

So once you conclude that the best mode of transportation is a bus rental, then you need to take the next step and identify a bus company or charter bus company from which you can rent. One method to identify companies can be to visit the website of IMG Coach (http://www.imgcoach.com).

IMG consists of independently owned tour and charter bus companies that have created a network that offers all sorts of travel services. Companies involved in the network operate more than 7,000 vehicles in North America and service more than 21 million customers.

While doing your research keep certain things in mind. How long has the company been in business? What associations does the bus company belong to? How many types of buses can they supply? Do they have on hand deluxe charter buses, executive tour coaches, luxury limousine buses, deluxe entertainment coaches, mini buses, and double decker buses?

If the trip is expected to be somewhat long, then you may want the bus rental to provide entertainment. Many of the more plush models like the executive tour coach, luxury limousine buses, deluxe entertainment coaches include such modes of entertainment as videocassette recorders, DVD players, CD players, etc. And of course most are equipped with public address systems so that announcements can be made or tour information can be given. Of course, the buses have restrooms. But if your group includes anyone who may be physically impaired, you may want to be certain that the bus you rent has a wheelchair elevator.

Of course, you will want to research the bus companies safety record. I wrote a previous article on this subject. I advise that you read it to get ideas on how to check this out.

Questions To Ask

When researching a bus rental company you need to be prepared to ask a variety of questions the answers to which will give you more of an idea about the company you are considering renting the bus from. You know the people who comprise the group that will be doing the traveling. You know what their needs and habits are. So be certain that you will be able to accommodate those needs. For example, a number of people in your party may smoke, so you want to make sure that it is all right to smoke on the bus. Many may want to indulge in a drink of an alcoholic beverage. In this case, you want to be certain that it is all right to serve alcohol. Ask about the buses like what do they look like and what kind of features do they have. Find out how far in advance you need to reserve a bus. Ask about the cost of renting the bus and how that figure is determined. Find out if there are other costs involved. That could include parking and toll fees, whether you are expected to pay for the bus drivers lodgings and tip, etc. And many companies have a processing fee to cover administrative costs and costs of refunds and cancellations. Make certain that there is a procedure that would allow you to change plans like the dates you will need the bus or changes in the itinerary and ask about the companys cancellation policy.

As said, there are very many scenarios one can imagine when bus transportation is probably the most efficient way to go. No matter how long or short the trip may be, memories are being built that you can share with those who accompanied you for many, many years to come.

Where do you exactly look for the right bus company? And why do you need to look for one? This is because before you can actually avail the services of the bus company, you have to book yourself first and even pay the fees. You also need to check out if it can provide you everything you need and look for. Otherwise, you can continue looking for more choices

Where to Search for a Bus Company

There are different ways on how to spot a good bus company. You can start using the list below:

1. Check out your local directory. Your local directory must contain numbers of bus charters and other companies that are offering bus rentals and tours. You can always call them up or, if the address is available, visit them at the office. The good thing about meeting people from the bus company face to face is that you can immediately get replies from your questions. In fact, it can speed up the rental process, should you decide to go through with them.

2. Look for them over the Internet. You will never actually run out of a bus company to pick when you make use of the World Wide Web. You simply need to search them using the term bus companies in [location] and watch as the results keep on increasing almost every second. This is highly ideal for those who dont have the time to flip through the pages of the local directory or always on the move. As long as your laptop or even your mobile phone can connect to the Internet, you can already begin looking. You can also ask for price quotes directly from the bus companies. Replies are often given within 24 hours.

3. Inquire from your local travel agency. A lot of these travel agencies have relationships with at least one bus company. Others are even providing bus charter services. If youre planning to visit another foreign destination or another county somewhere in the UK, it will be less hassle and more cost-effective if the bus companies will also be the one to coordinate your destination points.

4. Ask help from friends and families. Surely, theres at least one who knows of a bus rental company that you can approach. You can also benefit from the word of mouth since you can already know what to really expect from their services. You can inquire about their first-hand experiences with their bus tours or bus charters.

5. Try IMG Coach. IMG Coach is a company that has been around for so many years, providing different kinds of transportation services at various locations all over the world. They have an extensive list of requirements before a bus company can become part of their organisation. They also have excellent track record that makes them a favorite amongst travelers, group or individuals. Most of all, any bus company from IMG Coach can always provide dependable, safe, and convenient transportation for those who want to rent it.

Riding a motorcycle is an exhilarating experience. They start and accelerate so quickly, steer so easily, and can outrun most other road vehicles. If youre a motorcycle rider, you are probably tempted to open that throttle and take off into the wind.

The problem is there are so many other vehicles on our U.S. roads these days, and so many of them are very large. There are more big rigs, more high pickup trucks, and more SUVs. They have blind spots and may not see a nimble motorcycle darting between lanes or quickly overtaking them.

Most motorcyclists observe the rules of the road. They signal before changing lanes or turning and they leave enough space around other vehicles for safety. But if you are driving an 18-wheeler, with blind spots big enough to accommodate several motorcycles on each side of you, and front and back, you may not immediately see a bike that surges into the space in front of you.

Most drivers of cars and trucks also observe the rules of the road. But somehow, accidents happen, and when they do, its the motorcycle riders who are most often seriously injured and even killed.

Since 1997, motorcycle fatalities have been increasing

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 4008 bike riders died in 2004 and 76,000 were injured. About half of the accidents involved alcohol use and in one third of them the motorcyclist was speeding.

A bike rider is vulnerable not only from other traffic, but from poorly maintained roads, bad weather, mechanical failures, and poor lighting conditions. Although all traffic is subject to these risks, a bike rider is extra vulnerable because of having no protection around him, other than his or her helmet and clothing. This is the flip side of why bike riding is so exhilarating. The freedom is exciting, but its also risky. Thats probably true of every kind of freedom.

Be extra vigilant

Drivers of trucks and cars need to be extra vigilant in watching for bike riders. Look carefully behind you before changing lanes or turning. Stay a safe distance behind any bike in front of you. Be sure and signal if you want to pass a bike rider. If a rider seems to be acting irresponsibly, stay out of the way.

If you have lost a loved motorcycle rider in a traffic accident, contact an experienced motorcycle accident attorney to learn more about your legal rights and options. Depending on how the accident happened, there may be several sources of negligence that contributed to the accident.

The government entity responsible for the road upkeep

A maintenance crew who may have left debris on the road

A late trucker who may be exceeding his drive-time or the speed limit

A trucking company who may be overworking their drivers

Your accident lawyer will look into any such possibilities, and look to see where the deep pockets are. So dont under-estimate your chances of obtaining fair compensation for your loss.

Not all motorcycle accidents are caused by road recklessness. At times, accidents happen due to defects in a motorcycle or its parts.

What are you going to do when you find out or you have been informed of defective parts in your motorcycle?

Consumer product defects and recalls are a common occurrence anywhere. Concerning motorcycles and other vehicles, safety recalls are undertaken by either the National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the vehicle manufacturers themselves. This is in response to a discovered defect in a vehicle or a component of a vehicle.

A defect can be discovered in several ways including: in-house probe conducted by manufacturers, via customer complaints, or through unfortunate accidents related to the defect.

Thus, it is important to understand the procedure followed in vehicle recalls, and the respective responsibilities of those involved.

Whether a safety recall is conducted by the vehicle manufacturer, or is ordered by the NHTSA, a public report must be filed giving the following descriptions:

The safety-related defect or noncompliance with a federal motor vehicle safety standard

	The number of involved vehicle/equipment

The major events that resulted in the recall determination

	A description of the remedy

	A schedule for the recall

Manufacturers have a duty to notify owners of recalled vehicles or vehicle equipment. For vehicle recalls, manufacturers check their own records of vehicle purchasers with current information on state vehicle registration. For equipment or parts recalls, manufacturers must notify their distribution chain and known purchasers of the recalled equipment.

Importantly, even without a notification of a recall, if your motorcycle or other item of equipment is the subject of a safety recall, the manufacturer is obligated to provide a free remedy or replace it with the right one.

Under federal law, safety problems must be dealt with accordingly without cost to the consumers. Each safety recall is monitored by the NHTSA to ensure that manufacturers provide owners with safe, free, and effective remedies.

Once a defect determination is made, the manufacturers are given three legal options to correct the errors: repair, replacement, or refund. The manufacturer may choose to repair the vehicle; replace the vehicle with an identical or similar vehicle; or refund the purchase price in full, minus a reasonable allowance for depreciation.

In the case of equipment, including tires and child safety seats, the manufacturer can either repair or replace.

As a duty, the NHTSA also releases monthly public lists of motor vehicle safety recalls. These lists identify the make and model of the vehicle or equipment involved, with a brief description of the safety problem. The lists are often published to alert consumers about a products safety problems, and to encourage them to take action.

If there are issues associated with the brakes, chain, shock absorbers, toe clips, the rear wheels, or tires, a safety recall may be instigated.

If you have been injured in a motorcycle accident due to a defective or recalled motorcycle or motorcycle part, you must immediately contact a motorcycle accident lawyer who can help you obtain damages for your injuries.

It is also important that you contact a lawyer in order to ensure that all your rights are being fully observed. In cases of motorcycle accidents, you may always depend on the abilities and experience of a lawyer in pursuing personal injury claims.

Last month, Columbus, Ohio, police arrested an individual who drives bus for one of the Ohio schools in Columbus. The driver was charged with possession of cocaine and further investigation found the individual had three previous convictions for driving under the influence.

First Student, Inc., is the private company, who employs the driver and provides bus drivers for many of the Ohio schools. They employ 22,000 drivers to over 500 school districts in 38 states across the country, transporting nearly two million children each school day. Of the 20,000 bus drivers within the Ohio schools, 3,000-to-5,000 work for private contractors. State law requires that bus drivers for the Ohio schools have a commercial drivers license and a criminal background check through Ohios Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation.

After the drivers arrest, First Student discovered it had not done complete criminal background checks on all of its drivers. Service to the Columbus Ohio schools was suspended and the district cancelled classes for the day to allow the company to review their background check records for other such omissions.

Spokeswoman Jennifer Robinson assured the public that First Student has submitted hundreds of the required background checks and fingerprints to the Bureau since 2004, though Alex Goepfert, spokesman for the states attorney generals office, stated that the firm had not submitted anything since that year. Additionally, she stated that First Student runs all background checks through a private company and believes the arrested driver is an isolated case of omission.

Ed Simpson, chief of policy and administration for the state attorney generals office, is searching for a better way to improve enforcement of the background check for Ohio schools bus drivers law and to ensure such oversight does not occur again.

State attorney general Marc Dann met with Columbus area legislators to discuss ways that the statute can be strengthened. Failure to conduct these criminal background checks is a misdemeanor under the law. According to Simpson, Dann also is investigating if a criminal case or administrative action can be brought against First Student.

First Students oversight has other school districts within the Ohio schools asking about their drivers. Robinson stated that First Student is conducting a comprehensive review of all Ohio schools bus drivers.

Ohio schools Columbus district is evaluating its procedures and whether to cancel their contract with First Student. Ohio schools Cincinnati district has asked First Student and their two other private bus driver providers to resubmit their criminal background screenings for further review; they review background checks through the state every two years and locally through a private company every six months. Ohio schools Dayton district hires their own drivers and review background checks monthly. According to spokesmen, Ohio schools Lorain and Elyria districts were assured by First Student that appropriate checks had been completed on all of their drivers.
